In 2012, Brian and Johana first met at some mutual friends' home under very different circumstances. Brian had just come from a funeral; Johana had come over just to visit with her friend. When Johana entered the room, the first thing that she said to the boys was, "You guys look nice! Why are you all dressed up?" An awkward dinner ensued, and the two exchanged brief discussions about their lives, and went their separate ways. 

After that night mutual friends tenaciously checked in with the two every couple of months to enquire about their respective relationship statuses, in an effort to set up a date. Finally, in October 2013, Brian and Johana went on their first date, they fell in love almost immediately, and they have been inseparable ever since. 

On February 27, 2015, while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Brian surprised Johana while watching the sunset, and asked her if she would spend the rest of her life with him. She said, "Yes! Is this real right now?" Brian laughed and replied, "I've never been more serious about anything in my life."
